<p class="p1"><span class="s1">In an effort to support Chicago’s frontline workers during the COVID-19 health crisis, one grassroots organization is stepping up in a significant way.</span></p>

<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><a href="https://www.feed-chicago.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" data-saferedirecturl="https://www.google.com/url?q=https://www.feed-chicago.org/&;source=gmail&;ust=1590651504883000&;usg=AFQjCNE72sjpFKMwCDVBMFT1AOZLLk5DNw">Feed-Chicago</a> is a non-profit organization whose mission is to feed those who need it most during these uncertain times. By restoring restaurants and putting service employees back to work, Feed-Chicago is providing food, packaged safely and delivered with care, to heroes on the front line and heroes facing the greatest hardships.</span></p>
<p class="p2"><span class="s2">What started as a small grassroots effort by Sasha Adler Design to raise money and give back to the tireless, brave individuals working on the frontlines grew rapidly. Within days, a group of individuals formed a board who quickly rallied behind the cause to form the non-profit.</span></p>
<p class="p4"><span class="s3">One of the initial</span><span class="s4"> </span><span class="s3">funders of</span><span class="s2"> Feed-Chicago, among others, was Chicago executive <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/thomas-kane-chicago"><span class="s5">Thomas Kane</span></a>.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Kane, who offers his support to various charities across the city, knew that he wanted to help aid in the current health crisis in any way he could. </span></p>

<p class="p4"><span class="s2">“When I was approached about funding Feed-Chicago, I knew it was my opportunity to lend a helping hand.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>The work they are doing goes beyond delivering an individual meal. There is one big plan – restore food service work, feed heroes and nourish communities that need it most,” says <a href="https://inspirationfeed.com/philanthropic-response-to-pandemic-chicagos-thomas-kane-discusses-priorities/"><span class="s5">Thomas Kane</span></a>.</span></p>
<p class="p2"><span class="s2">Donations made to Feed-Chicago are making a difference. For every $50 donated, Feed- Chicago is able to provide 7 meals.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>The organization has already delivered over 15,000 meals and are on track to deliver over 5,000 meals per week. </span></p>
<p class="p2"><span class="s2">“Due to the generosity of Feed-Chicago donors, each restaurant partner allows for more hard working Chicagoans to be un-furloughed, restaurant suppliers to receive orders and farmers to revive their supply chain,” Kane explains.</span></p>
<p class="p2"><span class="s2">In addition to the heroes on the frontlines, there are many other children, individuals and families hit hardest by unemployment who are hungry and food insecure as well. Those numbers are only expected to grow in the wake of the pandemic. Feed-Chicago is serving those communities as well paying restaurants for meals, which allows them to hire/rehire staff and increase their orders to suppliers.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>This creates a trickle-down effect to help nourish everyone down the line.</span></p>

<p class="p2"><span class="s2">In fact, some of the donations received by Feed-Chicago have provided meals to the following people and organizations: Chicago Police Department -18th District, Rush University Medical Center, Chicago Youth Programs, Mt. Sinai Hospital, Cook County Jail Nursing Staff, Holy Cross, and many others. </span></p>
<p class="p2"><span class="s2">Participating restaurants include Taco Bell, Epic Burger, Burrito Beach, Schlep, Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants, Roti and Wow Bao, with a growing number of restaurants each week.</span></p>
<p class="p7"><span class="s2">Feed-Chicago’s reach goes far beyond providing an individual meal.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>The organization continues working hard to ensure Americans can re-earn a living and help feed more people in need along the way.</span></p>
