<p><em>CheeseMan </em>is one of those newer games with a retro feel that really works. The game simply feels good to play, from the polished graphics and clean coloration to the hand-drawn feel. The funniest thing about this game is how hardcore it really is. You play through 40 levels of cheese grinding, wall-scaling action and it&#8217;s actually fun the whole way through. Platformers are pretty hit and miss these days but<em> CheeseMan</em> is one of those hits. At the beginning you get the option of playing with the slack-jawed cheesy dude or Cheesette. The game is similar to <em>Super Meat Boy </em>in simplicity and charm which is slang for saying it is pretty damn easy (sometimes). The controls aren&#8217;t much to elaborate on, three buttons are displayed on the screen &#8216;left&#8217; and &#8216;right&#8217; are displayed as arrows as well as the &#8216;jump&#8217; button which is an arrow pointing up. The &#8216;jump&#8217; button is your best friend here like other games of this type, the jumping and double-jumping is fluent which makes you more prone uncontrollably skipping into one of the grinders featured on most levels in the game.</p>

<p><em>CheeseMan </em>is pretty well knit in terms of game mechanics and uniqueness. I found myself playing out various scenarios in my head of how cool it would be to see one of these wild dairy products face off against Jerry the mouse. I mean they are both damn near immortal and if that&#8217;s not enough you can always come up with a better scenario, for 2D platformers it&#8217;s fine to get creative since there is only so much content. If spikes, projectiles and chasms aren&#8217;t enough to satisfy your lust for action you will love the faster paced boss fights, as if the game didn&#8217;t already include enough jumping. <em>CheeseMan</em> is addicting above all else because it is humorous in concept and fun to play.</p>
<p>The three different playable worlds saves the game from becoming slightly repetitive. The formula is clear cut and the only thing that keeps <em>CheeseMan </em>from getting boring are the power-ups available as you advance. Your character can have the ability to become a swollen wall-smashing maniac and that in turn allows you to reach previously inaccessible areas. The game is rewarding and the replay value is high and that puts it in that short list of mobile games that you might actually keep on your phone. The game is free too!</p>
<p><em>CheeseMan</em> is a game that understands its place in the gaming world and is not shy about releasing all of that goofiness and style onto your screen. This is a game that is all about business when it wants to be and silliness when things begin to get rough. Although not particularly original, by itself it still contains that glimmer not usually seen in a game that strides in the shadows of others. You have got to wonder how great a sandwich it would be if the mighty <em>Super Meat Boy</em> got slapped on a nice thick bun with either of his cheesy counterparts here. That&#8217;s what I call a party.</p>
