Anyone who’s seen an ant-farm knows that ants can create the most elaborate network of tunnels. But what these scientists uncovered is unreal.

In an attempt to learn more about the ants, scientist poured over 10 tons of concrete into an abandoned anthill in Brazil in order to see what their habitat looked like.

They probably didn’t expect to unearth something this mind-blowing.

Forming an underground labyrinth of chambers and tunnels connecting them, this ant city is said to be the most complex society setting after our own. Take a look.
