A new entry of the Deus Ex series is currently in the works. The game has been officially announced by Eidos Montreal a few hours ago.
All the future Deus Ex projects have been dubbed by the developer as Deus:Ex Universe, an “ongoing, expanding and connected game world built across a generation of core games.”
The Deus Ex: Universe project represents Eidos Montreal committment to create meaningful content that expands the franchise on a regular basis and to create a more immersive and richer experience than ever.
The main Deus Ex: Universe games will be released on PC and console but more titles may also be released on tablets and smartphones. Eidos Montreal has also shown an interest to expand the franchise beyond the gaming medium with the potential release of books and graphic novels.
David Anfossi from Eidos Montreal has also confirmed that the team is currently working on a new game that will be released on PC and next generation consoles.
“I’m pleased to confirm that we are already into production of the starting point for Deus Ex: Universe with a new game for PC and next-generation consoles. We’re very excited about it at the studio and I wanted to let you know that most of the team behind Deus Ex: Human Revolution is already working hard on this new game.
While the new game won’t be released before some time, a Deus Ex new release will be happening later this month, as Deus Ex: Human Revolution – Director’s Cut will be released on consoles and PC on October 22nd in North America an on October 25th in Europe.
