Sony has been redefining its approach to mobile gaming in recent months, changing the name of its portable PlayStation gaming platform from Playstation Suite to the more fitting Playstation Mobile. Along with this change, they have also teamed up with Taiwanese phone giant HTC to bring the platform to more mobile devices.

Today, the new and improved service has become available to download on certified mobile devices in the US and Canada, with European versions expected to get it today. The initial line-up consists of 21 (slightly obscure) games for mobile gamers to download. Here’s the list:

  • Aqua Kitty – Milk Mine Defender (Tikipod Limited) – $3.49
  • Beats Slider (Futurlab Ltd.) – $0.79
  • Beats Trelis (Sony Computer Entertainment Inc.) – $0.79
  • Everybody’s Arcade (Sony Computer Entertainment Inc.) – $0/Freemium (In App Purchases)

The service could potentially prove to be interesting, technically opening the door for classic PS One and PS Two games to come out on mobile devices. Sony have also mentioned that games released for the platform will get Trophy support and online leaderboards in the future.
