Gearbox and 2K Games have officially announced that Borderlands 2 will have a Season Pass where they will offer all the DLC for $30. The season pass will include four pieces of DLC that will include “add-on content campaigns” after the game is released this September. People will still be able to purchase all the DLC separately at a price of $9.99.

However, if you decide to buy the Season Pass you will only be paying for three pieces of Borderlands 2 DLC, while actually receiving four full add on campaigns. Basically if you buy the Season Pass you will save ten dollars, as apposed to buying each piece of DLC separate. If you buy the Season Pass all DLC content included in the pass will be free to download as the content goes live.

The Season Pass will be available once the game launches on September 18th for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. The Season Pass however should not be confused with the “Premiere Club,” which according to the press release includes:

“Gamers who pre-order Borderlands 2 from participating retailers will gain access to the Borderlands 2 Premiere Club, allowing them to download the Gearbox Gun Pack, a Golden Key, the Vault Hunter’s Relic and an all-new fifth character class, the Mechromancer. The Gearbox Gun Pack is a collection of unique guns to help players begin their journey on Pandora. The Golden Key is used to unlock a rare in-game item in the mysterious Golden Loot Chest found in the town of Sanctuary.

“The Vault Hunter’s Relic is an in-game item that boosts players’ gear-hunting fortune while playing solo or teaming up with friends. The Mechromancer character class will be available following the launch of Borderlands 2 once development of the character is complete. For those who do not pre-order Borderlands 2, the Mechromancer will be available for purchase at a later date. The Mechromancer character class and other preorder items are not included in the Borderlands 2 Season Pass.”

Borderlands 2 officially has the biggest laundry list of pre-order bonuses and limited editions ever for a game. This is getting a little out of hand at this point, I can barley keep track of all the pre-order bonuses and pieces of DLC that will only be available at certain shops. I really enjoyed the original Borderlands DLC, but I bought the game of the year edition when it went on sale. Are any of you interested in a Season Pass for Borderlands 2 or will you wait for the game of the year edition?
