Another classic Mega Man title will be released later this week in Europe on the 3DS Virtual Console. We’re talking about Mega Man 2, the second entry of the series released back in 1988.
Mega Man 2 is the direct sequel of the original Mega Man game, starring once again the Blue Bomber as he fights Dr. Wily and his creations. The game features several graphical and gameplay changes, as well as some content that was developed for the original game but never included in the game.
Just like many other entries of the series, Mega Man 2 is a platform action game where players will have to control Mega Man as he goes through different stages, defeating enemies and evading pits and traps. At the end of each stage is a boss, which requires a specific strategy to be defeated. Each boss also drops, once defeated, a special weapon that can make the other boss fights easier, as all bosses are weak against a single special weapon.
Among the new gameplay features introduced in Mega Man 2 is the Energy Tank, which allows gamers to refill Mega Man health at any time. The password system is also introduced here for the first time, which allows gamers to continue playing the game from where they left off.
Mega Man 2 will be released later this week on the European 3DS Virtual Console with a €3.99/£3.59 price.
