It is no secret that Dragon Age III is in the works, BioWare has brought it up multiple times without actually confirming the game officially. Mostly because people were so unhappy with Dragon Age II, which might honestly be one of the most hated games ever released. Personally I thought the game was mediocre and didn’t really hate it like I know many people did.

Today though it seems that BioWare is trying to find out what people want out of the next installment of the franchise. As a Dragon Age III questionnaire was leaked, that may give us some idea of what to expect from the next game in the franchise. The leak includes information on possible plot points and even name possibilities. Also posted above is some supposed concept art that was available on the survey, probably of possible companions for Dragon Age III.

Here is the plot synopsis selection that was available to the survey taker:

“A portal between the worlds unleashes hords [SIC] of demons in the land, civil wars rip apart nations and the corruption is limitless. Someone is behind the shadows, drawing the threads which destroy the world. Time has come for the Inquisition.

Take the Inquisitor’s cloak and lead the only force able of bringing light into the darkness. Choose the direct method and gather your armies, send spies into the shadows or engage in a political war, make friends and use your connections indirectly: it is up to you how you lead the inquisition. But you’ll have to take lead of it from the beginning. Make your player a rogue, warrior or mage and set up your crew from up to ten (!) complex companions to lead them against those who attack you by systematically spying on, revealing and destroying them.”

In addition, there was a list of names for the game that were purposed in the survey as well: Dragon Age 3: The Breach, Dragon Age 3: Exarch, Dragon Age 3: Inquisition, Dragon Age 3: Inquisitor, and Dragon Age 3: Apocrypha.

At this point this is all unconfirmed information about the game, and chances are since it is survey information we will never get full confirmation. But I don’t think someone would spend this much time putting all this together in hopes of spreading false rumors about a game we know is in the works (not to mention surveys like this have leaked before).

BioWare has their work cut out for them; trying to revitalize a franchise that had a great but flawed opening chapter and then releasing a game that was panned mostly by fans of the franchise (review scores were middle of the road). BioWare has to rebuild the franchise’s reputation, but it may be a while before we see anything from the Dragon Age III. In all likelihood the game will be a next generation title because I can’t see it being released for at least two years as there are rumors the game was delayed already.
