Gamescom is this week so there have already been quite a few announcements, but Sony may be the busiest of all publishers as they have announced three new games today. First up Sony announced Puppeteer a game from Studio Japan that takes place in “the theater of the strange and fantastic” and aims to “awaken the imagination of all children.”
In this game you will not apparently move around a world but the game will take place entirely on a stage, so the world changes around you where you will encounter “surprises in every scene” including “weird and wild situations.”
The game will follow the adventures of a boy named Kutro “who has been carried away by the Moon Bear king into a castle where he’s transformed into a puppet.” Not much else is known about the game, but more details will probably be released as Gamescom goes on.
Next Sony announced a game called Until Dawn, a survival horror game where your goal is to keep all members of your group alive until morning. The game is supposedly a spoof on the teen horror movies where everyone is trapped in a cabin. The game is being developed by Supermassive Games and will be a PlayStation Move based game.
The main game mechanics seem to focus on using a flashlight and I am sure that is where the Move is suppose to be utilized. Again not much else is known about the game but it is one of the better looking Move centered titles I have seen.
Finally Sony announced a new PlayStation Network game called Rain, and it is being developed by Sony’s Japan Studio. In this game you will play a little boy as well, who was trying to save a girl when he suddenly turns invisible. The only way you are able to see the boy is in the rain or water as the trailer shows his footsteps are visible in puddles.
The trailer that was shown off is mesmerizing, as you can see platforming aspects of the game alone with these creatures that will apparently chase you throughout the game. Unfortunately, talking about the game really doesn’t do it justice, however if you click on the links it will take you to Koataku where you can view trailers for all three games.
