From the 17th of August Nintendo are making it easier for 3DS owners to purchase certain games. A new system will be in place to allow selected titles to be downloaded directly from the Nintendo eShop.
This is good news for those of who are looking forward to New Super Mario Bros. 2, but are unable to get to a store on launch day. Even if your local video game store sells out, there is no need to panic as you can just fire up your 3DS or 3DS XL and download it from the eShop.
The recently launched New Art Academy: Learn New Painting Technique game will also be available to download, as well as Share Your Art and Freakyforms Deluxe Your Creations, Alive.
Downloading any of these titles will allow you to experience the game just as you would if you had purchased it in store. The downloadable version will be saved onto the SD Card of your 3DS or 3DS XL system.
Nintendo will entice you further to purchase from the eShop as they have promised to reward double the normal Stars in your Club Nintendo account for every full title you download. To collect your Stars you will need to link your Nintendo 3DS system to your Club Nintendo account and complete the Club Nintendo survey.
There will be many more 3DS games arriving at the eShop in the future, so it is worth checking the store out every now and again to see if there is anything new you fancy downloading.
It is worth noting that although downloading full title games can make things much easier for users, it may add further dismay to some of our struggling video game retail stores. The more people are downloading games or purchasing over the internet, the more it seems to affect our game stores.
