The first half of the list is nothing impressive. Receiving an achievement / trophy for completing a campaign is nothing new. Where some of the “surprises” come in are with the Silent Killer and Flying Ace achievements. While hand-to-hand combat has been a part of the Resident Evil series from the start, it wasn’t until Resident Evil 4 that it fleshed out into a quick-time scenario that sent enemies flying backwards. Apparently, in Resident Evil 6, Capcom is including “stealth kills” – assumedly not during segments that deal with the series’ classic Zombies. Does this achievement also point to possibility of the inclusion of the high dreaded “stealth level” that ends when an enemy is alerted? It definitely could, but there’s no reason to let the sheer possibility of it dilute the excitement you should have for RE6.

VTOLs are aircraft that can take-off and land vertically, and apparently you will be flying one in Resident Evil 6. While vehicle segments are always hit and miss, knowing that there is something there to break up the stretch of third-person shooter segments is an exciting proposition.

One thing that may slightly sadden fans of Capcom’s titles is the neglect to include an achievement that honors another of the developer’s popular zombie-based games. In Capcom’s Dead Rising, one achievement charged gamers with the need to kill 53,594 zombies – a number that represented the entire population of Williamette, CO. While it’s not complete heart break that Capcom didn’t work in the reference, it would have been nice to see the developer honoring another of its undead titles.
