Dishonored is one of my most anticipated games of the year and sometimes I feel like the game has not gotten the hype that many other games have gotten. Dishonored is one of the few major new IPs that will be coming out this year and it seems like it is the least talked about game of all the major of the fall.

However, that may change after today as some of the biggest names in Hollywood have signed on to be voice actors in Dishonored. Bethesda announced today that Susan Sarandon an academy award winning actress will make her video game debut in Dishonored, she will be playing Granny Rags a former aristocrat who has been driven mad living on the streets.

Next up is Princess Leia herself Carrie Fisher as she will be playing the roll as the voice of government propaganda that will be played through the streets of Dunwall. Chloë Grace Moretz ( Kick Ass’s Hit Girl) will also be playing a role in Dishonored as she will be voicing Young Lady Emily the daughter of the Empress.

Here is the list of the rest of the cast that will be making their voices heard in Dishonored:  Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister from Game of Thrones), “Michael Madsen (Reservoir Dogs), Brad Dourif (The Lord of the Rings Trilogy), and John Slattery (Mad Men) “. Raphaël Colantonio, president of Arkane Studios had this to say about the all star cast:

“Having such talented actors voice Dishonored’s compelling cast of characters adds a rich, powerful element to the game, We want to draw people into this virtual world and make it feel real. This celebrated cast adds wonderful depth and credibility to the overall Dishonored gameplay experience.”

This is one of the most star studded video game voice casts I have ever seen, which can both be a good and bad thing. Big name voice casting can work really well sometimes like Martin Sheen as the Illusive Man in the Mass Effect series. There can also be times when big name Hollywood voice acting can fall flat.

Personally I prefer regular voice actors as opposed to major voice casting like what they are doing with Dishonored. However, I am actually very excited to hear how the voice acting in Dishonored turns out; well actually I am excited for the entire game but now even more so.
