Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII Gets Reviewed By Famitsu: 37/40
Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII has received its first review today. The Square Enix role-playing game has received a high mark but lower than the ones awarded to the other two games of the Lightning Saga.
Famitsu has awarded the game a 37/40 or 10, 10, 8, 9. Final Fantasy XIII received a 39/40 while Final Fantasy XIII-2 a 40/40.
Some other details have emerged from the review. According to Famitsu, Lightning Returns’ battle system is extremely well crafted, with a high-speed feel that make it even better. Unfortunately the high-speed makes even random encounter a bit difficult, as it can be hard to follow everything that is going on during battle. With battles being hard even on easy mode, players looking for a challenge will be quite happy, especially considering how easy Final Fantasy XIII-2 was.
Hearing fans’ complaints on how Final Fantasy XIII was too linear, Square Enix really did go all out with the freedom in the new game, as there’s a huge amount of quests to complete, so huge that it’s easy for new players to get lost.
