The latest entry of the Fable series, Fable Legends, is going to be a multiplayer focused game but this doesn’t mean that it will not have a story to tell. According to the game director Devid Eckelberry, the game will evolve over the years also thanks to the release of episodic content.
“The storyline is absolutely there and very important. Of course there’s a higher purpose with a broad storyline that combines the various quests. But we tell new stories all the time. That’s the beauty of episodic content.”
Eckelberry and his team don’t want the game to be completely over once completed. As the team is currently planning to launch episodic releases, the main contents of Fable Legends are currently considered as a Season One, with much more stuff to be added in the future.
Even though the game will be moving away from some of the series’ staples, Fable Legends is still going to feature the moral choices that have always been one of the trademarks of the Fable series.
Fable Legends will be released as an exclusive Xbox One game on a yet to be revealed date. Despite having a strong focus on online play, the team hasn’t decided yet whether to make it an always-online game or not.
