The latest Pokemon X & Y details will definitely make old fans of the series incredibly happy.
In a surprising twist revealed during today’s Pokemon Direct, Nintendo has announced that players in Pokemon X & Y do not receive Chespin, Fennekin, or Froakie from Professor Sycamore but will be able to choose between the three classic starter Pokemon Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle, originally introduced in the first Pokemon games, Red and Blue, so many years ago. These Pokemon still hold a special place in the hearts of many trainers, so we’re sure this will make a lot of fans really happy.
The good news don’t end here: once players have found the appropriate Mega Stone, they will be able to evolve Venusaur, Charizard, or Blastoise into their Mega Evolution form, learning new attacks and dealing some serious damage to opponents and wild Pokemon.
New details have also emerged on how the Mega Evolution process will work. Apparently players will have to obtain a mysterious bracelet called the Mega Ring, holding a Key Stone. Only with the Key Stone players will be able to use the Mega Stones to trigger the Mega Evolution process.

Pokemon X and Y will be released next month in North America, Europe and Japan exclusively on Nintendo 3DS.
