Shin Megami Tensei IV Gets Two New DLC Packs
Two new DLC packs are now available for Shin Megami Tensei IV, the Atlus role playing game released exclusively on Nintendo 3DS last month in North America. Just like previous DLC releases for the game, the two new packs introduce new challenge quests that allow players to obtain special equipment pieces as well as a new special Demon Fusion.
Players getting the Radiant Equipment DLC pack will be able to complete three Challenge Quests that will provide a piece of the Traje de Luces armor set. These quests are not too hard and can be completed even during the beginning of the main game.
The “For the Past… For the Future” DLC includes a Challenge Quest which is better suited for those who already have completed the game. In this Quest players will be fighting the powerful Tokyo’s guardian: once defeated, he’ll be unlocked for Demon Fusion, allowing players to control the creature in battle.
Shin Megami Tensei IV is the first numbered entry of the series to get released on a portable console, with all the previous entries getting home console releases. Many of the series’ staples will come back in the 3DS entry of the series: demon negotiations will be in and deeper than ever, the press turn battle system will come back with a few tweaks which give a good advantage to both player and enemies if weaknesses are exploited multiple times. Shin Megami Tensei IV will also include the usual karma system which will influence some parts of the story as well as the ending.
Shin Megami Tensei IV is now available in North America and Japan: the European release has been confirmed but not yet dated.
