Beyond: Two Souls To Have A Two Player Mode

With a surprising move, David Cage of Quantic Dream has confirmed that the upcoming adventure game developed by his team, Beyond: Two Souls, is going to feature a unique two player mode.

During this mode, called Dual Mode, a second player will be able to control the ghost entity called Aiden. To be able to do so, the second player will have to use a smartphone or tablet as the controller. During Dual Mode both players won’t be able to play at the same time: when Aiden is active, the player controlling Jody will have to wait.

It’s pretty much how it will work in single player, with the player switching between Aiden and Jodie when required. Still, it’s an interesting idea that will make the Beyond: Two Souls gameplay experience richer than before.

Beyond Two Souls features psychological, spiritual and thriller elements: the plot is centered around questions about what happens after death. The game will let players live through the life of Jodie Holmes and experience 15 years of her life, trying to discover the true meaning of the entity Aiden who has been with her for as long as she can remember

Beyond: Two Souls will be available in North America on October 8th and in Europe on October 11th.
