Even though Capcom has no plans to release Street Fighter IV and any of its expansions on Wii U, as revealed last week by the game’s producer Yoshinori Ono, some Street Fighter games are going to become available later this week on Nintendo latest home console.
The three Street Fighter games released on Super Nintendo during the 16 bit generation will be released on the Wii U Virtual Console. We’re talking about Street Fighter II: The World Warrior, Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting and Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers. Each game will be available for $7.99 / €7.99 / £5.49.
Nintendo has also revealed some special promotions for both North America and Europe. North American games will be able to get a 50% off two of the three games by buying one of them while European gamers will be able to get one of them for free by buying the other two.
The three Super Nintendo Street Fighter games are also excellent ports so if you want to do some old school Street Fighting you know what you have to do later this week. Street Fighter II: The World Warrior is the basic Street Fighter II experience, with players unable to play as the four boss characters. Hyper Fighting makes these four characters playable, introduces a Turbo option and new moves for all characters. Super Street Fighter II adds four playable characters and more new special moves for the already available characters.
