The Xbox 360 version of Minecraft is no longer the best-selling game in the United Kingdom, according to the latest UK Charts. Payday 2, released only last week, has managed to take Minecraft down and become the best-selling title of the previous week.
Payday 2 was considered successful by the developers and publisher even before release, since the game became profitable during the pre-order phase. The fact that the game launched at a lower price definitely helped.
Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition and Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2 follow Payday 2 in the charts, together with other high selling games released some time ago following like Fifa 13, The Last Of Us and Tomb Raider. Animal Crossing: New Leaf is still selling decently, making it one of the most successful 3DS releases of the year. Closing the top ten is Grand Theft Auto IV, released a few years ago.
Here are the first ten games on the UK charts for the week:
- Payday 2 (505 Games)
- Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition (Microsoft)
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 (Activision)
- FIFA 13 (EA)
- Animal Crossing: New Leaf (Nintendo)
- The Last of Us (Sony)
- The Smurfs 2 (Ubisoft)
- Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes (Warner)
- Tomb Raider (Square Enix)
- Grand Theft Auto IV (Rockstar)
