Digital distributor Steam is halfway through its wallet-crushing Summer Sale. As they slide into their sixth day of the two-week event a whole new crop of games hase gone on sale, including a recent release, plus a new bundle of indie games.

Each day Steam has discounted eight games, plus a bundle of indies, and today’s selection includes the recently-released shooter Spec Ops: The Line, and interesting modern adaptation of the novel Heart of Darkness.  It’s marked down by 33% making it $33.49.  Also on sale is Grand Theft Auto IV for $4.99, but GTA fans should consider the GTA Complete pack which includes every GTA game, plus the Episodes From Liberty City DLC pack, all for $12.29.

Everything in the Railworks 3: Train Simulator 2012 series is 50-90% off.  Train enthusiasts can get the main game for $3.49, and the various expansions for half off.  Hardcore fans can get all 108 DLC packs for the low price of $1030.06.

That is not a typo…

Shooter fans who haven’t picked up Call of Duty Black Ops yet can get it for $19.99.  The Black Ops Collection which has the game and all four DLC Packs is now $49.99, but there is no discount when buying the DLC packs on their own.

There’s also the indie hit Limbo for $2.49, Company of Heroes for $2.49, Stronghold 3 Gold for $13.59, and Wargame European Escalation for $19.99.

Today’s indie bundle includes AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!! for the Awesome, Defcon, Space Chem, Ticket to Ride and Trauma all for $9.99.  Each game can be bought individually for various discounts.

This year’s Summer Sale also extends the previous day’s sales for an extra twelves hours, so gamers who missed yesterday’s sale still have some time left to grab the following deals too.
Age of Empires Complete for $9.99, Assassin’s Creed Revelations for $13.59, Men of War Vietnam for $8.74, Metro 2033 for $4.99, Rage at $9.99, and Iron Front Liberation 1944.

Noteworthy cheapies still hanging on from yesterday are Knights of the Old Republic for $2.49, and recent indie hit Dear Esther at the same price.

Yesterday’s indie bundle is still available for $9.99 and includes Audio Surf, Gemini Rue, Greed Corp, The Tiny Bang Story, and Y’s: The Oath In Feighana.

Throughout the entire event there are short-term “Flash Sales”.  At the time of this writing, these are Binary Domain for $13.59, Sniper Elite V2 for $24.99, Duke Nukem Forever at $4.99, plus a bundle of games from publisher Double Fine which inluceds, Psychonauts, Costume Quest and Stacking for $7.49.

There is also a short term “Community’s Choice game up every six hours and at the moment this is Batman Arkham City for $10.19.  Steam customers can vote on the next game to be featured in the Community Choice, and the options are Eye The Divine Cybermancy, Sanctum, and Krater.  The flash deals end at various times over the course of the day, as does the Community choice expires.

Yesterday’s deals will run though midnight Central Time, and today’s deals expire tomorrow night at the same time.  The Steam Summer Sale will run through Sunday July 22nd.  If previous Steam Sales are any indication, the most popular deals will be made available again on the final day of the sale.
