Some new details on the extra costumes available for use in Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII have emerged thanks to the latest issue of Famitsu. As Final Fantasy fans may already know, Lightning will be able to use some cameo costumes like a Cloud Strife costume and a Miqo’te costume, taken from Final Fantasy XIV. A Yuna costume from Final Fantasy X will also be available
According to Famitsu, these costumes will not only grant Lightning some special abilities but also special sound effects, taken from the games these costumes come from, as well as special victory poses.
Lightning is going to be all alone when fighting to save the world: she’ll be the only playable character. This doesn’t mean that the gameplay experience is going to be dull since Square Enix has adapted the Paradigm Shift system used in the previous FF XIII games to work with a single character. The whole gameplay experience will have a more action feel since players will be able to jump during the exploration sequences and all Light’s skills in battle will be tied to different buttons.
Even though she’ll be alone during battle, Light will meet some characters she knows well like Snow, who’s coming back in Lightning Returns with an all new design.
Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII will be released in North America on February 11th and in Europe on February 14th on Ps3 and Xbox 360.
