A new update for the now free to play MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic will be released on August 6th, bringing two new flashpoints and an Ewok Companion. However Bioware is already working on the next big update for the game, update 2.4, coming sometime during Ocotober. The team has revealed today some of the new features that will be introduced by the new update.
Bioware has revealed that two new operations, new 4VS4 arenas and a new tier of gear for both PvP and PvE will be introduced, as well as some other new contents. The team has also talked about a shorty story arc set on The Planet Oricon that will bring players face-to-face with the Dread Masters: more details on this short quest will surely become available in the near future.
Star Wars: The Old Republic has been released on December 2011 for PC: the game was originally launched with a subscription model but Bioware decided to change the game into a free to play one with a subscription option. The game has also been receiving constant updates that add new features: despite losing a few subscribers over the months, Bioware still considers the game profitable.
