If you were thinking that the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 were getting more and more similar as time passed, this will only reaffirm that belief as we find out today that a feature that will be on the PlayStation 4 of being able to play a game while it downloads and installs, will also be on the Xbox One. This should come as a surprise to no one as next generation games are going to be larger in file size than current generation games and feature higher resolution graphics and be more taxing on your system. With digital becoming more and more of a solution for acquiring games, no one wants to wait potentially hours to play a game, right?
According to the reports, as soon as enough of the game data has been downloaded, you’ll be able to start playing the game while the rest of it downloads and installs in the background. This will make digital distribution a whole lot more friendly for console users and a more viable solution. It should be noted that the Wii U has had downloads in the background since November now, but you know. This is a good thing for the Xbox One, at least, putting it closer in features to the PlayStation 4.
