Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 May Get A European Release

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 is a strategic role-playing game and spin-off of the main Shin Megami Tensei series. The game has been released some time ago on Nintendo DS in North America and Japan but a European version has yet to become available. The European publisher of the series, Ghostlight, stated some time ago that there was a small chance that the game might get released in Europe as well.

The publisher has now explained the situation in greater detail: Ghostlight may release the game in Europe in a special way, by selling it exclusively through its online store only to those who pre-order the game. By doing things this way the publisher can know if the product is commercially viable and make sure that all the production costs can be covered.

To make the European release happen, a certain amount of pre-orders must be reached within a month’s time: if pre-orders end up not being enough, the game will not be released.

Ghostlight also acknowledges that more than a few players may be waiting for the 3DS updated port of the game: however, if these players feel the need for another good strategic role-playing game like Fire Emblem: Awakening and the first Devil Survivor game, Devil Survivor 2 will definitely make them happy.

Ghostlight will give us more details on the pre-orders for Devil Survivor 2 next week, so stay tuned for updates.
