J-Stars Victory VS, currently in development for Playstation 3 and PsVita, is going to commemorate the 45th anniversary of Shonen Jump Magazine. With the latest issue now available, two new characters have been revealed for the game.
The already confirmed characters are Son Goku from Dragon Ball, Monkey D. Luffy from One Piece, Toriko from the series with the same name and Naruto Uzumaki from the Naruto series, Kenshin Himura from Rurouni Kenshin and Ichigo Kurosaki from Bleach. Sakata Gintoki from Gin Tama and Kankichi Ryotsu from Kochikame have been revealed, joining the already diverse character roster.
J-Stars Victory VS is going to feature 2 VS 2 battles: each player will have to choose two characters before each match. Players will only be able to control one of the two characters, with the other one controlled by the AI.
Players will be able to chain together basic attacks and special power attacks if you have enough meter to perform them: this meter is shared between the two characters of your team and when all three segments are full you will be able to do an ultimate attack with two characters. One of the available combination special attacks is between Naruto and Goku: the young ninja will use a Rasenshuriken while Goku will be launching a Kamehameha from the air.
J-Stars Victory Vs is going to release in Japan before the end of the year on Ps3 and PsVita. No news on a possible North American or European release.
