Outspoken and Phil Fish are two things that go together almost as well as chocolate and peanut butter do, which is really saying a lot. Phil Fish has been incredibly outspoken when it comes to his thoughts on Microsoft’s handling of indie games on the Xbox 360 as well as the upcoming Xbox One. That is to say that he is incredibly unhappy with Microsoft and has no real plans of working with them again in the near future, which will have major ramifications for the upcoming title from his Polytron Games, Fez 2.

After some issues with the original Fez, where Fish explained his frustrations with how much it cost to have Microsoft “certify” the game and its patches, he opted to not update the game on Xbox Live Arcade anymore and was happy when the exclusivity period on XBLA had run up for Fez. So when asked about what platforms he’d be launching Fez 2 on, his response was a very simple one, “Not Xbox.

So it looks like Fez 2 will not be coming to the Xbox 360 or Xbox One any time in the near future.
