One of the showstealers at this year’s E3 has to be, without a doubt, Hideo Kojima’s Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. The extended trailer that debuted was just jaw-dropping, with the scope and gameplay that was shown just being amazing. The fact that Metal Gear Solid 5 will be an open world game makes it even more intriguing for a lot of fans, which seems like it will open up the gameplay some more. Well, it does.
In an interview with CVG, Kojima discussed how the style of play will vary for each player, that it doesn’t have to be played strictly as a stealth game. If a player wants to go in guns blazing as their style of playing Metal Gear Solid 5, that will be perfectly acceptable, which is definitely a departure from past games. He also touched upon Ground Zeroes, which is seen as a way to ease fans of the Metal Gear Solid series into the open world nature of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. He also discusses a possible multiplayer version of a Metal Gear game in the future.
