Despite the fact that Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 on Wii U hasn’t been too successful, Infinity Ward has just confirmed that the next installment of the series, Call of Duty: Ghosts will be released on Nintendo’s home console, as well as on all current and next generation consoles and PC.
Executive Producer Mark Rubin has stated that as of now the company isn’t going to talk much about the Wii U version of the game since they consider it a “next-gen” version.
“That’s probably in the next-gen bin, but we’re not actually talking about Wii U yet. ‘Cause we want to keep it mysterious”
Call Of Duty: Ghosts is going to be the first next-gen entry of the series: while Infinity Ward is taking care of most of the work on the game, Raven Software and Neversoft are assisting the main team in developing Ghosts. Call Of Duty: Ghosts will run on the same used in previous entries of the series. The engine, however, will feature significant upgrades.
The game’s story will take place after a catastrophic event that changed the global balance of power, with the United States no longer considered as a super-power. The elite band of soldier called Ghosts will wage war against an unseen enemy, preventing these enemies from making the United States situation even worse than it already is.
