The Killzone series is going to get two new entries released in the near future: Killzone: Mercenary is going to be released on PlayStation Vita this September while Killzone: Shadow Fall will be available on Ps4 when the console launches. To better promote these two new games, the Official Killzone Site has been updated and some new details have emerged on the Ps4 entry of the series.
According to the site Killzone: Shadow Fall will only allow for 1 player locally, unlike Killzone 3 where two players could play together in an offline co-op mode. No new details have emerged on the Multiplayer Mode: more details will be coming in the near future.
Killzone: Shadow Fall takes place 30 years after the events of Killzone 3. Set in an era of interplanetary colonization, it focuses on the conflict between the Vektans and the Helghast, two rival colonist factions inhabiting a distant planet. For three decades, both factions have lived side by side, separated by an enormous security wall: their cold war is about to go hot.
Lucas Kellan, a member of the military intelligence unit known as the Shadow Marshals, will be the new main character. Kellan’s missions will range from quiet infiltrations to all-out combat.
