Microsoft are set to launch their own exclusive store in the UK sometime next year.
A recent report claims that this own-brand retail outlet will launch in the UK in March at some point in 2013. The plan was leaked by “sources familiar with the company” and we also found out that the High Street launch will be accompanied with an online store as well.
Whilst we don’t know just where it will be located on it’s launch, it’s expected to be London, Manchester or one of the other major city centres. There are currently 19 stores in North America, but the UK has been devoid of them for quite some time.
As confirmation of this plan to open a UK-based store, Microsoft recently registered a private company in the UK that will most likely be used to spearhead this retail outlet launch as well as promote it in the coming months.
There’s a lot of excitement surrounding this potential launch. There’s hope that the “$99 Xbox Deal” that’s currently only available in North America may have a Pound Sterling equivalent once the store opens it doors, in an effort to get an even more solid base of Xbox gamers in the British Isles.
