The highly successful Star Wars themed role-playing game The Old Republic will be receiving two new updates later this summer; update 2.2 will be coming in a few weeks, on June 11, while update 2.3 will be coming at the beginning of August.
The Old Republic Update 2.2 will introduce some new gameplay elements: players will be able to enjoy some new guild bonuses and a new mode called Nightmare Mode Terror From Beyond which will introduce harder game mechanics.
Update 2.3, launching on August 6, will include new flashpoints, a new daily area and a new recurring event. Bioware Austin Senior Producer Bruce Maclean has stated that these won’t be the only new additions and that the team is also working on long-term items which will be introduced as we get closer to the updates release date.
In the near future players will also be able to enjoy once again some double XP weekends: Maclean has confirmed that double Xp weekends will beginning on June 22 and run through July 7, with the final weekend beginning sooner thanks to the celebrations of July 4th.
