The upcoming One Piece Pirate Warriors 2 isn’t going to be the only One Piece game coming in the near future. A new game has been revealed by this week’s issue of Jump Magazine: One Piece Unlimited World Red is currently being developed for Nintendo 3DS.
Unfortunately there aren’t any additional details available but, judging from the game’s title, we can speculate that One Piece Unlimited World Red could be related to the Unlimited series, developed by Ganbarion.
The three games of the One Piece Unlimited series have been released on Nintendo Wii a few years ago: One Piece Unlimited Adventure was released in Japan and North America while the two One Piece Unlimited Cruise games have been released in Japan and Europe. One Piece Unlimited Cruise was also ported on Nintendo 3DS.
Both game allow players to use all the Straw-Hat members of the crew, with the exception of Brooke in Unlimited Adventure, in a third person adventure game featuring all new stories. The games place a good emphasis on item collecting and creation: by creating new items players will be able to unlock new special attacks, increase the characters stats and unlock new areas to explore.
Each Straw-Hat also learns many different attacks: in One Piece Unlimited Cruise 2 players are also able to swap between two sets of different special attacks, as well as being able to perform some special combination attacks taken directly from the manga and anime series.
