The UFC license was something of a hot commodity when Electronic Arts secured the rights to it, especially after they themselves threw their hat into the ring with their own offering of EA MMA a few years ago. EA MMA might not have sold a ton of copies, but it was a super fun game and a very worthy alternative to the sort of clunky and robotic UFC games released by THQ up until they sold the license to EA. Hardcore fans were excited at the prospect of Electronic Arts scooping up the UFC license and releasing their own take on one of the most brutal sports in the world.
Electronic Arts, which is set to unveil the next installment of the FIFA franchise at Microsoft’s big unveil event might also be announcing their first installment of the EA UFC franchise tomorrow at the event, as they have released statements saying that they will announce the game on May 21st. Rumors about the reveal have been floating around since this weekend and it is good to finally get their confirmation on it.
