Guilty Gears fans, it’s time to get back into the fight: Arc System Works has just announced a new entry in the Guilty Gear series. The new Guilty Gear game will be slightly different from the previous entries of the series, at least from a graphical point of view: instead of 2D sprites, the new Guilty Gear game will be using 3D polygon models, a first for the series.
The new game will be called Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-: a debut trailer for the game was shown at the closing of the Arc Fes 2013 Event and you can take a look at it here. Arc System Works has confirmed that the game will be powered by the Unreal Engine. As of now the game is currently in development as an arcade title and it will run on Sega’s RingEdge 2 arcade system board, supporting the “ALL.Net P-ras MULTI Version 2″ network data saving system. Just like other Arc System Works games, the new Guilty Gear game may get released on home systems as well.
Players disappointed in the fact that Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign- is not going to use 2D sprites will still be able to play a new 2D Arc System Works game pretty soon on their Ps3, with the latest BlazBlue game called Chrono Phantasma getting released in the near future.
