The upcoming free-to-play Action RPG game, Ascend: New Gods has gotten a bit of a rename this week, as the developers behind the title have decided that the title of Ascend: New Gods didn’t quite fit the story that they were going for and have opted to rename it to Ascend: Hand of Kul. The title is one of the few free-to-play games that Microsoft Studios is focusing on being pushed out soon, working with Signal Studios. There will be a beta of the game sometime soon and it is assumed that the game will come out some time this summer.
There is still little known about the game outside of it featuring a “parallel” multiplayer where you can encounter random players online, much like in last year’s PlayStation 3 title Journey. There will be some level of interaction with these other players, such as casting multiplayer spells, but we’ve yet to really see the extent of it. So remember, Ascend: New Gods is now Ascend: Hand of Kul. Cool?
