Unless you’ve been living under a rock, I’m sure you’ve heard Sega’s announcement that it is bringing back the old Mickey Mouse Castle of Illusion game a la HD remake style. What I’m sure you hadn’t heard, was that the same composer who brought us the amazing music found in games such as Viva Piñata, Donkey Kong Land 2, the Banjo-Kazooie series, and N64′s GoldenEye 007 is also working on the soundtrack to Castle of Illusion HD. Grant Kirkhope has received several nominations for aural awards since 2004, most notably his work on Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning.
Tonight, Kirkhope revealed that he will be finished with his final piece for Castle of Illusion HD starring Mickey Mouse tonight over twitter.
With the news of our fondest childhood memories coming back to life with these HD remakes, one cannot wait to hear what the next remake will be. Personally, I’m still waiting for Michael Jackson’s Moonwalker HD to be announced.
