In an interview today, Watch Dogs senior producer Dominic Guay talked about some of the major differences we can expect to see between the current generation version of Watch Dogs and the PS4 version. According to Guay, PS4 owners can expect to see the same sized city as the other versions of the game but it will be much denser.
The new Disrupt engine allows Ubisoft the flexibility to have the city the same size on all versions, but the PS4 version of Watch Dogs will mimic details and moving parts of a real city. Ubisoft wants to “replicate the activity you would find in an actual city” on the PS4 and PC versions of Watch Dogs.
Guay went on to talk about the increased connectivity we can expect to see on the PS4 as well. Ubisoft wants to use the PS4′s focus on connectivity to “surprise” people playing multiplayer with no menus. From what we have seen with trailers for the game, we can probably assume they mean something like Journey where people just pop randomly into your game; someone would just pop into Watch Dogs and start controlling cameras and other things in the city.
Unfortunately, Guay would not go into full depth about the differences and only talked about them in vague terms. Ubisoft will probably be more willing to talk once the PS4 is fully unveiled and has a release date.
