Capcom has released its second development diary video on the upcoming console release for Resident Evil: Revelations. The last episode saw the developers discuss the series’ heritage, while this instalment discusses the importance of the franchise’s various viruses.
The team discusses how viruses being an everyday, common yet scary occurrence inspires the series, and how viral infections permeating from reality play a large role in their terrifying impact.
They also go on to talk about the infected Rachael and the other Scagdead enemies, which are the huge, mutated creatures that still have human characteristics left (such as human face and arms). The way these creatures still slightly resemble humans adds to their disturbing nature. Finally, the graphics and sound are discussed, with both elements creating an “effective horror atmosphere”.
Resident Evil: Revelations will release on PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC on May 21 in North America and May 24 in Europe.
