Relic Entertainment’s Company of Heroes 2 is a heavily-anticipated real time strategy game which is going to be released for the PC this summer. The game, originally set to be published by THQ before they went out of business, will now be released under the banner of Sega with Relic Entertainment still at the helm of the game, currently in a closed beta. Sega announced today that Company of Heroes 2 will feature an all-new game mode called “Theatre of War” mode, which is explained as additional single player and cooperative content, which only adds to the whole package.
Theatre of War mode will pit players against unique AI commanders in battle and take place during different historic battles for the period, to sate the appetite of history buffs everywhere. There are plans for more Theatre of War content in the future, as well, which means that the mode will be one that continues giving to fans. The mode is explained as a mix between the single player campaign and online modes, serving almost as a “bridge” for players who aren’t used to the online multiplayer in Company of Heroes 2.
