A new Defiance patch is expected to release this week for the PS3, according to developer Trion Worlds. This will be a much requested patch for the fans, as the developers try and smooth out the experience for their players. Executive producer Nathan Richardsson wrote in a blog post that the update was in it’s final stages of testing, and that they expect the patch to go live early Monday morning.
This won’t be purely a PS3 update, as the PC and Xbox 360 versions will be getting server side fixes. The PS3 version isn’t the only version of the game that has been rife with problems. The Xbox 360’s server issues have been greatly improved, according to Richardsson. Trion Worlds is also going to take action against cheaters and hackers in their game, saying that they take cheating very seriously.
“We have a team from many departments constantly working on this. From engineering, to customer support, security, networking, business intelligence and game design. I‘m happy to report that we‘re now banning far more people, whether they successfully do it or just attempt to,” he added. “Our tools, detections, reporting and pre-ventive mechanisms have iproved considerably in the last two weeks after incrased focus on them. Some have been deployed, more is being deployed today, more coming. I know that some players linger in there for a while before we ban them but sometimes we just allow them so we can watch them. We like to watch.”
