Dust 514 has been in beta for several months now, and it finally looks like we have a firm release date for the final release of it. According to a tweet from CCP’s PR account, the full game will be available to download on May 14. If you’ve been participating in the beta, then you know how far the game has come since it’s early days.
The game was pretty buggy, but it has come a long way. When you’re dealing with massive multiplayer games, the launch is never perfect. Hopefully, because of the extensive beta period, the game will have a solid foundation to build on. The game was originally scheduled to come out on May 6, but in order to coincide with the name, CCP Games decided to push it back to 5.14.
CCP Games have made a lot of interesting comments about their games, stating that they have a 10 year vision for the game. They also said that they plan on supporting the game long after the PS3 takes a backseat to the PS4. I wonder if the game will have the type of popularity as Eve Online, and if it does, it will surely last the lengthy ten years. You can check the game out for free in May.
