Before being released quite successfully on Nintendo consoles, the Monster Hunter series was synonymous with the Playstation brand: the series started during the Ps2 era, receiving some really successful releases on PSP. Ever since the third main entry of the series, the Monster Hunter series has found a new home on the latest Nintendo consoles: Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is now available on Wii U and 3DS while the latest numbered entry of the series, Monster Hunter 4, is currently being developed on the 3DS.
Some fans have started a new thread on the Capcom Unity forums asking about a possible new MH game on PsVita: unfortunately things don’t look too good, despite some rumors stating that Monster Hunter 4 was going to be released on PsVita some time after the 3DS version.
Capcom USA Community Specialist Yuri Lindbergh has replied to the thread simply stating that Capcom currently has no plans for a PsVita Monster Hunter game. Players wanting some MH action on their Sony portable console can buy Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, fully available on the Playstation Store.
This clearly doesn’t mean that things are going to stay like this forever, especially if the Vita sales manage to improve in the upcoming months. As of now, however, the only thing you can do to enjoy some new Monster Hunter titles is to buy a Nintendo 3DS.
