One of the most highly anticipated PSN games has to be Atlus’ upcoming title, Dragon’s Crown. A lot of people were excited when Atlus finally gave us a firm release date for the game, but when they released the price for the game, it was met with a lot criticism. John Hardin, the press release manager at Atlus, responded to some people’s complaints on the PS Blog.
A PS Blog commenter called the game’s $49.99 price tag “laughable,” and thought the game was going to be around $15-20 dollars. Hardin responded to the commenter with the following: “We’ll have a lot more info on it in the coming months – the game has a lot more depth than its 16-bit spiritual brethren. It looks and plays better than a $15-20 game.”
Although I was a little shocked by the price as well, I didn’t think the game was going to be a ripoff. Atlus has always done a good job when it comes to value in their games. Atlus has stated that Dragon’s Crown will be a lot bigger than your average PSN download, and that’s one of the big reasons the game will cost as much as it will. Dragon’s Crown is set to launch in the west on August 6th.
