Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is a new standalone title based on the Far Cry franchise. The game was originally unveiled on April 1st, making everyone think it was some kind of April’s Fools joke from Ubisoft. The company, however, confirmed that the title was real and truly coming on Ps3 and Xbox 360.
A new interview with producer Phil Fournier has revealed some details about the creation of the game: Fournier revealed that when the company greenlit the project he couldn’t really believe it. The team has had a great fun in creating the game and it really shows during the game. Everything is over the top and really, really fun.
Fournier also revealed that the development of Blood Dragon started a few months before Far Cry 3 got released: only a small portion of the original Far Cry 3 team has worked on it, using the same technology behind the main game.
The decision to make Blood Dragon a stand-alone title allow the team to include the “terrible script” they had in mind together with all the cheesy ideas that got included in the end.
Fra Cry 3: Blood Dragon will lauch on April 30th in North America and on May 1st in Europe.
