Pokemon Rumble U, the third entry in the Pokemon Rumble series, has been released yesterday in Japan. The game is an exclusive eShop release developed by Ambrella featuring up to four players multiplayer action and a lot of Pokemons: more than 100 Pokemons can be displayed on screen at the same time.
Pokemon Rumble U is quite a unique title since it’s the first one using the NFC capabilities of the Gamepad: players will be able to bring real-life figurines into the game thanks to this. The first set of figurines featuring Bulbasaur, Pikachu, Torchic, Lucario, Victini, and Piplup is already available in Japan, with a second set coming in the near future.
The game’s plot is also tied to the whole “toys coming to life” theme: the Pokemon dolls inside the game will be trying to get back to the Pokemon Store fighting several bosses along the way.
A new video of the game is now available, showcasing many of the game’s features: the video is 12 minutes long.
Pokemon Rumble U is currently available on the Japanese Wii U eShop: no news on a possible Western release are available at the time.
