One of the more exciting things to come from Nintendo’s recent April Nintendo Direct event was the unveiling of a new Zelda game coming out for the 3DS called The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past 2. Well, at least that is what they are calling it so far, but we do know that it will be a sequel of sorts to A Link to the Past, one of the most popular and beloved Zelda games of all time, if not one of the most beloved Nintendo games of all time. So, Nintendo are not big on disappointing when they announce something, and it turns out they aren’t about to start doing that anytime soon.
Nintendo went ahead and posted a video today that runs about ten minutes long featuring someone playing a bit of this new Zelda title and it looks absolutely gorgeous. As a few commenters on YouTube have pointed out, it has a few “Paper Mario” moments where Link flattens into an image against the wall to get to other platforms, creating an interesting gameplay dynamic for the series. The level shown off really showcases how many layers to this game there can be and gives a lot of hope for the upcoming Zelda title.
