Yesterday’s Nintendo Direct has brought a lot of new announcements for the Nintendo 3DS. Among them, the announcement of a sequel for one of the most loved Zelda games was certainly unexpected, especially so many years after the first game’s release.
The Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past 2 is the sequel to a Link To The Past, released on Nintendo Super NES around 20 years ago. The game is considered as one of the best Zelda games of all times. The sequel will bring new life to the game’s world while maintaining the old art style. Players looking to experience some classic 2D Zelda actions will be quite happy in knowing that the game will keep the top-down view of its predecessor and add new gameplay features as well as new enemies, dungeons and items.
Today we finally know who’s going to develop the game: Zelda portable games have often got outsourced to other developers so many players were fearing that ALTP2 wasn’t going to be developed directly by Nintendo.
Eiji Aonuma, the series producer and his team at Nintendo EAD are the ones working on A Link To The Past 2: this shows hom much Nintendo cares about the game. A Link To The Past 2 will surely boost 3DS sales a lot and Nintendo definitely doesn’t want to take any risk with this game.
The Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past 2 will be available before the end of the year. A new 3D trailer is available on the 3DS eShop.
