After the initial issues with the servers right after the game’s release, no more problems have been reported for Sim City: the latest entry of the long running Sim City series requires an always on internet connection to work. According to EA and Maxis the game was built around the always on feature to make the town building process more realistic, trying to represent in the game the way real cities interact with each other and influence each others’ development.
Some extra DLC packs are coming in the near future for the game together with more title updates introducing new features and addressing some of the game’s issues. If you want to get some extra Sim City content already you won’t have to wait much longer since a new free DLC pack is already available for download.
The charging station “Leaf Station” introduced with this new free DLC will give a one time boost to happiness in surrounding areas and for each sim the uses it: no water and power will be used and it doesn’t produce any waste or pollution. Another funny thing is that this DLC introduces an ad inside the game: the station bears a Nissan logo.
Sim City is currently available on Pc. The Leaf Station DLC will only be available for six months.
