It’s been announced yesterday that the OUYA console, powered by Android, is now shipping to early backers before being officially available for the public on June 4 priced at 99.99$. With the console now available to a few select people, some games will be available pretty soon and among them are some high-profile releases.
Square Enix has announced that a OUYA version for Final Fantasy III is now available: FF III OUYA will be based on the 3D version of the game, originally released on Nintendo DS before being ported to PSP, iOS and Android mobile devices.
Final Fantasy III OUYA won’t be a simple port of the other versions: controls will be optimized and visuals will be improved, making it visually the best version of the game. A free demo will also be available.
Final Fantasy III is the first Final Fantasy game which introduced the Job System which was later refined in Final Fantasy V and Tactics. The remake of the classic NES game also has an enhanced storyline, giving names and personalities to the originally unnamed four warriors of light. It’s still light on plot elements but the gameplay experience is just as good as other Final Fantasy titles.
