With Resident Evil: Revelations coming in the next months, many have wondered what could be next for the Capcom survival horror series. Revelations can’t be considered as a completely new game since it’s based on the 3DS version of the game: it’s indeed getting some addition and changes but it’s not a completely new entry of the series.
According to some rumors circulating today, Capcom may already have a new Resident Evil game in the works: a source close to Capcom apparently told the site Geimaku that a new game is already in development and it’s a next generation project.
The source close to Capcom also added that it’s not a main entry of the series but it’s going to be a spin-off. Spin-offs of the Resident Evil series aren’t something new: last year Resident Evil: Operation Racoon City was released for Ps3 and Xbox 360, allowing players to play as Umbrella Operatives.
Not much else is known about this possible new Resident Evil game except that it should be released on Ps4 and the yet to be detailed new Microsoft console: an official announcement will come later this year, most likely after Resident Evil: Revelations HD is out.
